Synopsis
In this interactive hybrid event, you will have the opportunity to work in cross-functional teams to tackle real-world questions about measuring IT sovereignty - both for organisations and nation-states.
The core framing challenge: Is either the UK or Europe moving in the right direction when it comes to technological sovereignty? And crucially—how would we know? What metrics would signal success or failure? Who decides what "sovereignty" means in practice?
Working groups will develop their own measurement principles, compare approaches across sectors, and vote on which indicators matter most. Every attendee will leave with actionable insights and a network of peers thinking through similar challenges.
Team activities include:
- Mapping dependency chains across typical enterprise technology stacks.
- Designing scorecards for different levels and sectors.
- Comparing EU regulatory moves (GDPR, Data Act, GAIA-X, Digital Markets Act) against measurable outcomes.
- Debating trade-offs: sovereignty vs. innovation speed, cost efficiency, security posture.
- Building consensus on top 5 priority metrics for sovereign capability monitoring for different use cases.
Teamwork will be supported with briefings, essential context and sources.
Our events are for adults aged 16 years and over.
