We are looking for a Head of Health and Care to join our Corporate Engagement team, in a permanent, full-time capacity.

About the role

The Head of Heath and Care will create and deliver the Health and Care strategy for BCS, capitalising on membership growth through FEDIP, whilst developing a unified offering that supports the social responsibility BCS has through the Royal Charter.

This role will pull together the health influences across the business to deliver the Health and Care strategy and deliver a focused health programme to support organisations and individuals in the sector. Supporting the growth in membership through the health sector and deliver FEDIP adoptions and registrations.

The Head of Heath and Care will be an ambassador of BCS health, internally and externally, becoming the focal point for all health-related activities and initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Create, own and deliver the BCS Health and Care strategy;
  • Deliver against Key Performance Indicators, including revenue / headcount targets;
  • Work closely across the Health community and existing BCS channels, increasing our profile and informing our strategy;
  • Support the drive for membership and to enable delivery of BCS Standards, including FEDIP, to grow the overall membership number;
  • Work with appropriate NHS Networks to increase NHS apprenticeship numbers;
  • Use knowledge and stakeholder relationships to inform and influence the direction of FEDIP to ensure it remains fit for purpose for BCS members;
  • Work with relevant bodies to improve career development tools and support, based around the SFIAplus framework;
  • Support, coach, mentor and manage the Key Account Manager to ensure an effective and successful account management;
  • Flexibility is required of all job holders to adjust responsibilities as required from time to time by their Line Manager/Divisional Director;

Who are we looking for?

Education and qualifications
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience.
Experience
  • Demonstrable experience of establishing contact and developing high value relationships at director and or C-level;
  • Experience of working with Health sector;
  • Demonstrable experience of consultative sales approach focused on business-to-business engagements offering a range of products, services and solutions;
  • Experience of strategic programme management;
  • Proven experience of managing small teams.
Competencies and skills
  • Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to demonstrate a professional consultative approach with strong listening skills;
  • Articulate and confident, able to communicate effectively with customers face to face, by phone, email and social media to influence them to engage and buy;
  • Effective at identifying prospective stakeholders’ requirements and able to match these to BCS offerings;
  • Proficient in constructing business proposals - methods and techniques for preparing and presenting business cases, invitations to tender and statements of requirements both orally and in writing;
  • Ability to quickly build trust and rapport with customers and enhance BCS’s reputation in the marketplace;
  • Ability to deliver against Key Performance Indicators;
  • Research skills;
  • Able to organise, plan and prioritise own workload;
  • Networking, Influencing, negotiation and persuasion skills;
  • Able to rapidly assimilate new products, services and solutions;
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, determined and target driven.
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of the Health and Care industry;
  • Knowledge of the IT and consultancy industries.
Special conditions
  • Must have full valid UK driving licence;
  • Travel in the UK, may include some overnight stays and evening dinners to support sales activities.

Remuneration
