We are recruiting for two new Internal Quality Assurers to join our EPA team, on a permanent basis, working at our Swindon offices located on key transport links in the town centre.
About the role
The role of Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) will support BCS with ensuring that apprenticeships are assessed accurately and fairly. They will undertake a range of quality assurance activities including moderation of assessments and will facilitate standardisation activities.
Providing information, advice and guidance to internal teams, as well as training providers, around assessment and the quality assurance of assessment provided by BCS is an important part of this role.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure that assessments have been carried out accurately and that the grade awarded is appropriate.
- Moderate assessments and provide appropriate feedback.
- Review grade queries and work with the Quality Assurance Manager (QAM), and other teams where necessary, to resolve queries.
- Supporting assessors’ line managers with onboarding, training, upskilling and the creation personal improvement plans as necessary.
- Support the QAM with appeals and complaints, trend analysis and reporting.
- Provide support for product reviews, ensuring that materials produced by BCS to aid assessment accurately support the respective standard, and regulatory compliance.
- Provide information, advice and guidance to training providers around the interpretation of standards, and if required, around their assessment and quality assurance of apprenticeships.
- Flexibility to adjust responsibilities as required from time to time by management.
- Continually look at ways to make improvements to systems, processes and procedures.

Who are we looking for?
- Assessor qualification: D32/D33, A1, CAVA
- Quality assurance qualification: D34, V1, Level 4 IQA award
- Demonstrable experience of working in the digital/IT/telecoms industry, or supporting industry, in a technical role
- Demonstrable experience of operating as a work-based learning assessor
- Proven experience of undertaking an IQA role
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to confidently and accurately challenge assessment decisions
- A concern for accuracy
- Ability to identify areas for improvement within your department
- Ability to prioritise workloads to meet operational demands
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Good time management skills
- Able to use Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- A broad knowledge of digital, IT and telecoms technologies, and supporting industries
- An excellent understanding of the apprenticeship sector and an excellent understanding of a range of apprenticeship standards, especially digital standards
- A broad understanding of the digital apprenticeships offered by BCS in line with the apprenticeship standards published by Skills England
- Knowledge of Data Protection/GDPR and the importance of ensuring sensitive data is kept secure
- The position will be field (home) based. There may be the need to travel to customer and BCS sites for meetings
- A full current driving licence would be advantageous
- Although this role operates within normal working hours, to meet business requirements there may be a need for any early start, late finish or an occasional overnight stay
