Synopsis:

Session 1 - Mobile SAM - Managing software consumption and licensing on any device, wherever the user is - Alan Giles

Alan GilesWe're pleased to announce that Alan Giles, who leads the UK Mobility team at Snow Software, will be presenting a session on Mobile SAM at the next UK SAM Networking Group.

The way users consume software is changing every day. No longer does software reside solely on desktops and servers. With or without the organisation's permission, today's IT consumers are used to accessing data and software anytime and from anywhere. SAM for Apps is a 'thing' and it's arrived on a mobile device near you!

Discover Alan's recommended approach to managing software and licenses across all devices across all mobile platforms, including iOS, Windows Phone and Android. Alan will provide some solid advice for ensuring organisations attain software license compliance across any device a user may interact with during their working day.

As always there will be plenty of opportunity to network with your peers and enjoy a light supper with a glass of wine or non-alcoholic tipple, so we look forward to seeing you there!

Session 2 - What does it mean to be truly independent? - Andrew Harcourt

Andrew HarcourtCan an individual or organization give truly partial advice to a customer regarding a specific publisher if they have a financially beneficial relationship with that publisher? Can a SAM practice give impartial advice regarding tool choice if they are paid by a tool provider? Will an organization that is paid by a publisher to undertake a ‘customer review’ really act in the best interests of the end client? These are important ethical issues facing our industry, so join us to discuss and debate all these scenarios and contribute your thoughts on the subject.

SAM Networking is an independent event for SAM practitioners to create an environment for healthy debate, but it is not for commercial gain.

End user organisations, vendors, market analysts, service organisations and others attend this event, and we welcome new participants.
