The IT Industry provides many opportuities for people from all walks of life to develop, learn and grow their careers and achieve their potential. There are many routes to developing a career in the IT industry, from Entry Level jobs to studying at university. In this talk / discussion, Kai and Andy explore many opportunities that people can follow to develop their career in IT, as well as steps and advice to help them learn and grow.

About the speakers:

Kai Bentley
Kai Bentley is a Business Analyst who has worked in the retail sector for 12 years. After many years of being the go-to person on the Shop or Contact Centre floor for technical issues, she decided it really was about time she made a career out of it. So she started working in Service Management, accidentally becoming a Subject Matter Expert in eCommerce and IT Infrastructure in the process. She's passionate about making sure everyone has the right tools to be able to enjoy the career of their choosing, no matter their background.

Andy Shaw
Andy Shaw is a software testing professional, developing a career in IT after completing university. He enjoyed testing in particular and decided to focus on that area for his career. He encourages people from all walks of life to develop careers in IT, including women, people with disabilities and ex-forces personnel, and mentors others to develop themselves and their careers."
