Talk summary

The term "data science" has become very prominent in the tech industry in recent years.

While the debate on how best to define data science continues, there are many successful examples of how data science techniques and methods have been put into action to derive insight from data and build successful data-driven products.

In this talk, Dr Neal Lathia will describe a number of examples - ranging from e-commerce to apps and sensors - where data science is being used, and discuss the common themes that emerge.
