Patricia Dreghorn will examine the role of a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in implementing projects with an IT element. She will describe project complexities with which she must grapple, concerns and risks from her perspective, how this information is presented to her (formally and informally) and how this impacts her decisions.

Trish Dreghorn, Chief Operating Officer, E-Serve
Trish joined Ofgem in early September 2016 as Chief Operating Officer, E-Serve.
Patricia (Trish) is responsible for the E-Serve division. E-Serve administers renewable energy and social schemes on behalf of government. The division designs, sets up and delivers large scale schemes in the sustainability sector. We strive to do this efficiently and effectively to enable government to meet its aims of reducing CO2 emissions, improving energy efficiency and reducing fuel poverty.
Before joining Ofgem, Trish worked in the outsourcing sector, focused on procurement, finance and administration solutions and services for clients across the banking, aerospace, defence and retail sectors.
Her most recent role was MD UK accounts and Director, Strategy and Technology. Before this, Trish held various leadership roles in shared services, product development, acquisition, implementation and production management within both the outsourcing and spirits and wine sector.
Trish graduated from Strathclyde University with a BEng (Hons) in Manufacturing Systems Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration.
Gerry Thorogood will present his perspective as the Head of Project Change on this.

Gerry joined Ofgem in January 2017 and is responsible for the successfully delivery of a portfolio of Strategic Transformation programmes and projects which span Assurance Improvement, Operational Transformation and Digital Transformation.
Gerry’s Programme and Project delivery assignments for organisations over the last 18 years across the EMEA region includes Ofgem, Aggreko, Cargotec, The European Commission, HSE Ireland, Scottish Enterprise, The London Development Agency, The World Bank, The Olympic Delivery Authority and Transport for London. He previously spent over 22 years in the materials handling, software services and aero maintenance sectors.
Gerry has specialist domain expertise in procurement and supply chain technology and process improvement.
