  • Agile Methods SG: Imposing Agile with Coherence, Constraints and Curiosity + AGM

Includes Agile Methods SG AGM

Speaker: Karl Scotland

Event Synopsis:
As Agile becomes more mainstream, leaders and managers are increasingly deciding to establish Agile Transformations to deliver organisational improvement. However, the imposition of Agile methods and practices as ready-made solutions is like putting a new patch on an old garment - a superficial fix which will ultimately make things worse. Instead, leaders and managers should be choosing Engagement Models, with which they can align people to discovering what changes need to be made. In this way, organisational improvement can become outcome-oriented, continuous and fully participatory.

Speaker Biography:
Karl helps businesses become Learning Organisations. In the course of doing this, he has been a pioneer and advocate of using Kanban Systems and Strategy Deployment for product development, a founding member of both the Lean Systems Society and Limited WIP Society, and has been active in the Agile and Lean communities for the last 15 years. As a result, he was awarded the honorary Brickell Key Community Contribution Award at the 2013 Lean Kanban North America conference. His experience includes working with the BBC, Yahoo!, EMC Consulting, Rally Software, Cisco, SDL and Legal & General, and he writes about his work on Kanban Thinking and Strategy Deployment on his blog.
