The talk will provide an overview of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) package-based solutions, covering a definition of functionality, a look at the key players in the marketplace, an understanding of the differences between package-based and bespoke development, and how the journey to cloud has changed the nature of delivery.
An ERP system can transform the way that a company works - the integrated system mean that information is only entered once and reused many times across different departments in that organisation. That can offer huge efficiency gains to the business as information flows more smoothly and efficiently.
A typical company that has implemented an ERP system will often have modules for Human Resource, Stock Control & Inventory, Sales & Marketing, Purchasing, Finance & Accounting, Customer Relationship Management(CRM), Engineering / Production and Supply Chain Management (SCM).
