Synopsis

Building on the LPI Capability Map webinar (Feb 2019) we return to the LPI in this 45 min online event where they share insights into the Capability Map and how the recently launched LPiLEARN supports and addresses the skills gaps required by the modern learning professional.

About the speakers

Kelly Davis is the Global Director of Sales and Marketing at the Learning and Performance Institute (LPI), the global body exclusively for workplace learning organisations and professionals. Kelly is a Fellow of the Institute, a member of the Board, and drives the LPI’s global business growth and partnership strategy.

Since joining the LPI in 2014, Kelly has introduced and managed a highly successful global partnership programme which has opened up key alliances and markets across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the USA, Australia and Russia. In addition, Kelly has galvanised the domestic (UK) sales and marketing teams with a series of initiatives to positively impact business generation and operational efficiency.

Kelly has also played a fundamental role in the creation of the LPI’s product development programme, identifying new market opportunities and orchestrating international design and delivery teams to implement innovative new products and services for the workplace learning sector.

Prior to joining the LPI, Kelly worked for over 20 years in senior sales and management positions for QA, New Horizons, Element K and Knowledge Advisors, and was responsible for spearheading international business growth in those organisations, as well as building highly capable teams across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Her outgoing personality means that Kelly is very well-connected in the learning industry, having a remarkable ability to build networks and communities, all centred around business performance improvement and sales enablement.

Kelly is also a tireless supporter of the children’s charity, Dreamflight, and since 2017 has organised an annual fundraising campaign which brings together individuals from hundreds of L&D companies to take part in a calendar photo shoot – a highly popular campaign that has raised over £30,000 for the charity and continues to go from strength to strength.

Michael Strawbridge began his career as a professional actor having trained at London's Academy of Live & Recorded Arts for three years. He appeared in London's West End in such productions as Blood Brothers and on a UK wide tour of The Rocky Horror Show.

During this time acting he became more interested in the world of learning and performance and made the decision to change direction by joining the team at Personnel Today and Training Magazine. Following a move from London to Devon he took up the role of Publisher at Training Zone and HRZone a position he held for 8 years. During his time as publisher, Michael began working with and supporting the LPI and, in September 2014, he joined the Institute.

Michael's role as Global Head of Content, Networks & Member Services is to inspire the learning community by expertly curating relevant and compelling content that helps L&D professionals in their workplace. Michael is a member of the management team at the Institute.
