Dawn Hewitson

Synopsis

Visual Impairment (VI) and Technology. A webinar presentation about visual impairment and how technology has helped some members of the VI community particularly during the pandemic. Visual impairment is debilitating because 90% of the information we process about our environment comes through our eyes, which can make navigating the world very difficult.

This webinar explores different VI conditions and Dawn explains how technology has supported her in her VI journey. In recent years Dawn has trained VI students to become teachers and these VI trainees are currently working as qualified teachers in secondary school classrooms teaching computing to young people.

Our events are for adults aged 16 years and over.

For overseas delegates who wish to attend the event, please note that BCS does not issue invitation letters.
