A discussion on the development of new-generation wearable medical imaging & health monitoring technologies.

Speaker

Dr Hubin Zhao

Agenda

6:00pm - Refreshments and networking. Refreshments kindly provided by Skyscanner.
6:30pm - Events starts

Synopsis

My research vision is to develop new-generation wearable medical imaging & health monitoring technologies with a miniaturized profile, a lightweight form factor, multi-modal functionality, and high imaging resolution. I exploit advanced engineering approaches including medical electronics, reconfigurable hardware, signal/imaging processing (AI enabled), and wearable materials to realise a sophisticated platform that will enable the creation of a range of wearable imaging and sensing technologies that will offer unprecedented spatial-temporal resolution and patient comfort. These technologies are excepted to lead to wide-reaching applications in multiple sectors including neuroscience, clinical neurology, neuro-rehabilitation, and personalized at-home healthcare.

About the speaker

Dr Hubin Zhao is an Assistant Professor in Medical Technology and the founder and group lead of HUB of Intelligent Neuro-engineering (HUBIN), at the Aspire Centre for Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology, Faculty of Medical Sciences, UCL. Hubin has strong background in Electronic Engineering and Neural Engineering, and his research team is working at the intersection of Advanced Electronics, Neural Engineering, and Medical Technologies.

Hubin's primary research interests including:

  • Wearable and Non-Contact Medical Imaging, Sensing and Health Monitoring Technologies
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) Hardware for Medical Imaging and Healthcare
  • Technology Developments and Applications for Brain-Computer Interface and Human-Robot Interaction
  • Advanced Medical Electronics, Microelectronics and Optoelectronics for Medical Applications
