Synopsis

This Presentation is part of London Climate Action Week.

The European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) is the world’s leading demonstration site for testing wave and tidal energy technologies in the sea. To date, more ocean energy devices have been tested at its sites in Orkney than anywhere else in the world. EMEC’s managing director, Neil Kermode, will take you on journey following the developments of the burgeoning ocean energy sector. He’ll cover the progress made to date and challenges being faced, and look at how ocean energy integrates into a more robust energy mix, including its potential to integrate with green hydrogen.

Neil will explain how such developments can support the UK in securing its energy supply, levelling up in peripheral community and invigorating our innovative pedigree, as well as reaching a net zero future.
