Synopsis

At our 2019 AGM, the Northern Ireland branch of the Chartered Institute for IT were pleased to welcome CCEA to present the findings from their report "Why don't more women study computing?"

Since then, the Branch have also increased the categories of Awards available in our Educator of the Year award series. These awards allow us to recognise the vital work that our educators do in developing our tech capabilities, both at Primary, and Post-primary level.

This year, we invite CCEA back to provide an update on the revisions to the ICT Curricula in Northern Ireland.

A panel discussion will complement the talk, with invited guests from CCEA, Barefoot Computing, BCS Education Committee. The panel will discuss the relationship between education, curriculum and industry, and how employers and the community can help develop future skills. Questions from the audience are also welcomed and encouraged.

So please come along to learn more about how we can help shift the dial to encourage and support a diversity of youth into the world of IT.

Our events are for adults aged 16 years and over.

This event may be recorded and photos taken, if you do not wish to be photographed please let the committee know on the night. You will be required to sign in on arrival at Allstate. Your name and surname will be supplied to Allstate, no emails will be supplied.
