SPEAKERS BIOGRAPHIES

Freddie Quek, Chair BCS Digital Divide Specialist Group (host)

Freddie Quek is a global technology leader who has worked across many industry sectors. He started the #JoiningTheDots of 16 UK tech communities to address #digitalinclusion, became special advisor and Community Board member of the Digital Poverty Alliance and established the BCS Digital Divide Specialist Group. He serves on the boards at University of Bristol, BCS Influence Board and eLife, and a member of the Technology Advisory Group of the Royal Society of Chemistry. He is a Fellow of BCS and judge for the UK IT Industry and Women in IT awards.

Rosey Woodhead, Independent Consultant
Rosey is a highly experienced digital strategist, programme director, and consultant, with over 30 years of work alongside the NHS. She will share insights on how clinically led triage can help reduce unnecessary appointments—making care more efficient and accessible for everyone.

Beata Green, Technology Director, AthenaAI
Beata brings more than 20 years of experience in senior software development roles. As a former Chief Technology Officer at a large healthcare organisation, she gained deep knowledge of how technology fits into healthcare settings.

She will explore the overall trend how artificial intelligence can support the care of older adults—and the practical benefits it can bring.

Adeola Ajayi, Product Owner, AthenaAI
Adeola is an accomplished product manager with over five years of experience working in artificial intelligence (AI). Recognised as a Global Talent in Tech by the UK Government, she is passionate about using technology to solve real-world challenges that matter.

Andy Green, Managing Director, Digital for Health
Starting his career as a graphic designer, Andy has spent the last 20 years leading technology companies and working with a wide range of organisations, from small businesses to global firms.

Matthew Douglas, Director Digital & Infrastructure, Director Digital & Infrastructure NHS Cambridge & Peterborough ICB
In his current role as Director of Digital for an ICB, he is responsible for the digital aspects of the integrated care strategy so that patients are able to receive better healthcare closer to home.

Viola Rook, Editor, National Pensioners’ Convention and former Midwife
Viola was a Midwife for 20 years with a postgraduate qualification in Education and Development. Now retired she is involved in research have been involved in many projects via the local university.

She is a PPI member of the Secure Data Environment portal, one of about seventeen set up around the country concerning research data and patients’ records. In her role as Editor of the National Pensioners Convention Digital Working Party newsletter “Connections for All”, she works on the policies on digital inclusion and exclusion and how these apply to the lives of older people across the country.
