About the speaker
Our speaker Dalim Basu MBE FBCS CITP is voluntary Chairman of the BCS London Branches community, incorporating London North, Central and South Branches, with the ability to reach up to 10,000 BCS members.
His professional work experience includes:
• Track record of quality results at ‘Big Four’ and financial/business services firms up to global level including: PwC, KPMG, Chase Manhattan Bank, ITN, LBMS, Lehman Brothers, Lloyds Banking Group, Mitsubishi, Mizuho Bank, Nomura, Shell, Zurich.
• Significant experience of delivering complex projects, recovery/turn-round of failing projects, handling full project life cycle, project portfolios, programmes and PMO (project management office) functions.
• Successful delivery of IT infrastructure, operating systems, databases, software systems, knowledge management, governance, compliance, and risk-based assurance (including external and internal SOX audits).
• Effective ‘fit for purpose’ use of structured methods and techniques (including PRINCE 2).
• Valuable background in IT management, business/systems analysis, system development. Dalim’s voluntary/charitable work experience includes:
• Over 10 years at ISACA London Chapter as Board member, Events Director and international conference speaker, helping ISACA members and others to improve understanding of the world of IT-related risk in this global organisation of 180,000+ members across around 180 countries.
• Over 4 decades at BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. He is committed to helping make IT good for Society.
Dalim was awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in January 2025 as “Honorary Chair and Volunteer, British Computer Society, North, Central and South London Branches. For services to Young People and Promotion of Science and Technology.”
