How We Turned a Secure POS Device into a Surveillance and PIN Stealing Tool Card machines are trusted across the fintech industry to handle secure transactions, but how secure are they really? In this live presentation, Ali from Cyber Alchemy walks through a real-world security assessment of a widely deployed point-of-sale (POS) terminal. What appeared to be a locked-down device was fully compromised using simple techniques: bypassing kiosk mode, leveraging default credentials, deploying malware, stealing PIN numbers and activating onboard surveillance features.
