Synopsis
Many organisational change efforts start with a splash but fail to make waves. With Agile, we often see surface-level shifts like renamed roles and meetings, but deeper cultural layers stay untouched.
This isn’t surprising. Change is hard, even in our personal lives. We say we want something new, yet find ourselves treading the same old waters.
This talk explores what it takes to spark change, starting at the individual level. Sharing experience of coaching, systemic thinking, psychology, and Agile in unusual contexts, we’ll explore how to humanise change, leading to powerful waves across teams and organisations.
Whether you're guiding Agile adoption, new technology practices, or seeking growth, you'll gain practical ideas to use straightaway to start a ripple effect.
The session includes a chance for personal reflection and interaction.
Key Learning Takeaways
Participant takeaways:
- Identify what gets in the way of change
- Learn strategies to support change at an individual level
- Understand how to scale these strategies to help teams and organisations
- Reflect on what you can do to create more meaningful change for yourself and work
About the speaker
Kathy has been enabling change for over 25 years, supporting people in different contexts ranging from technology companies to civil service business operations.
She started out as a software developer in financial services, and quickly gravitated towards supporting others as a mentor and team lead. Her journey to Scrum Master was a natural one from there.
Today Kathy supports as an Agile Coach, embedded inside organisations. She helps to create more inclusive, enabling spaces for people, freeing them to deliver amazing products and services.
In parallel, she supports as an external professional coach, working 1:1 with leaders and managers to reduce overwhelm, reactivity and build confidence.
These complimentary approaches have allowed Kathy to build an understanding of the challenges faced by many different organisations, and allowed her to help people find more agency, benefiting themselves, their team and their organisation.
