Synopsis
Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) or Affinity Groups are a popular way of supporting marginalised and minoritised people in organisations.
Whilst many organisations have ERGs for women and people of colour, far fewer have those for disabled and/or neurodivergent people. Of those that do, many of those groups are quite new. In this event, or panellists will share experiences of setting up such groups in different organisations.
You will learn what's worked and what hasn't in a range of circumstances, and how to approach setting up an ERG in your own organisation.
The topics we will explore include:
Making the case for an ERG internally
- Finding volunteers
- Getting a charter
- setting governance/purpose
- Deciding who can join
- Exec sponsorship and representation
- Finding allies or supporting as an ally
- Structure/cadence/ritual/targets
- Running your first session
- Sources of support out there for people setting up an ERG.
Please join us if you are interested in supporting neurodiversity in your own organisation.
We will start with a roundtable discussion featuring the panellists, and then have a chance for winder discussion and questions with all attendees.
Our events are for adults aged 16 years and over.
