Synopsis
This webinar jointly organised by the BCS Digital Divide Specialist Group and Worshipful Company of Information Technologists (WCIT), will provide practical advice on how to enjoy the benefits of digital services safely and confidently.
As more of our daily lives move online, digital inclusion depends not only on access but also on the knowledge and confidence to use digital services securely.
Detective Pamment from the City of London Police will share real-world examples of how criminals exploit individuals who are unaware of common online risks and the simple steps that can significantly reduce the likelihood of accounts being compromised.
The session will conclude with a live Questions and Answers session, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions and receive practical guidance.
About the speaker
Graham Strachan BSc, CITP, FBCS, graduating in 1987, and has worked in IT for 37 years until recently retiring, including as a Senior Director at McAfee, he became a Chartered Engineer and was honoured to become a Fellow of the British Computer Society, and then later at Mimecast,also as a a Senior Director before retiring. He then became a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists, allowing him to maintain important industry connections and to support their philanthropic efforts.
James Pamment is a Detective Sergeant in the City of London Police, currently working within the Cyber Griffin team to help organisations strengthen their defences against cybercrime.
Over a 16-year policing career, he has built extensive experience tackling serious and organised crime, leading proactive operations against gangs, county lines drug networks, and modern slavery.
He now works with businesses and organisations across London to strengthen cyber resilience, contributing towards training programmes that have reached over 100,000 delegates.
