Synopsis

Responsible Mutual Human-AI Socialisation (RHAIS) AI is advancing at an astonishing pace, far faster than society’s ability to adapt, creating urgent risks of bias, privacy erosion, and democratic disruption.

This talk introduces Responsible Human‑AI Socialisation (RHAIS), as a new paradigm; a shift from merely regulating on grounds of ethical consideration. It proposes embedding AI within human social norms through interaction, feedback, and mutual adaptation.

Drawing on emerging research and standards, RHAIS views AI not just as a tool but as a collaborative agent within shared cognitive and ethical ecosystems. We explore how socially informed value acquisition can help AI systems interpret human norms more reliably while keeping humans firmly accountable.

The session presents a new framework outlining the key factors required for responsible Human‑AI mutual socialisation. One that not only safeguard human agency and dignity but also avoids creating barrier to realise true power of this transformational technology.
