Synopsis
After the huge success of our March Lightning event, yes, we could have debated until midnight, but we have our next Lightning event. This time we bring it to Shrewsbury, where Mike Jackson starts us on the very relevant and imminent Quantum Computing with its opportunities and challenges, think of decryption as one challenge!
This is followed up by "AI Pt2". It is "Pt2" because this discussion seemed to finish halfway through at our last event. This is further likely to cover Agentic AI; there may be some “Open Claws” and AI Security, especially with the news around Anthropic's Mythos model and more recently OpenAI's cyber model.
This session will be led by Jason Lewis and Jared Cowen. If time allows, bring your questions on all things IT. Event in the top room of the pub... Parking in main Shrewsbury car parks, etc.... Free at night.
Oh, did I mention the Pizza.... This is another opportunity the fantastic work that the BCS Chartered Institute of IT does, and how we are building it up in Shropshire with a new passionate committee.... Looking forward to seeing you there.
About the speakers
Mike Jackson, retired computer science professor, is a long time contributor into BCS initiatives. There is not much that Mike does not know.
Jason Lewis, an industry award nominee for his work in Cybersecurity, and industry leading light with a highly informed take on AI and Cyber.
Jared Cowan, a developer with real hands on experience in the AI space who is also our passionate "Early Careers Advocate".
