The South Yorkshire BCS branch is organising a joint visit with Sheffield Hallam University, to Bletchley Park and the National Museum of Computing on Friday the 8th of February as a Special Event for BCS members as well as non-BCS members within the South Yorkshire area.
06:50 - Arrive for a coach pick up from the Arundel gate, opposite the Novatel hotel
07:00 - The coach leaves.
10:00 - Approximate arrival at Bletchley Park to start the tour.
13:15 - Tour finishes (lunch is not included)
13:30 - National Museum of Computing Tour starts.
15:30 - Tour finishes, then coach back to Sheffield.
19:45 - Approximate arrival back to Sheffield.
Many of you will be familiar with the history of Bletchley Park and the important work undertaken there during the Second World War. After the Second World War, it became a number of training schools: for teachers, members of GCHQ, Post Office workers and more, and is now a heritage site, preserving the vital work the Code Breakers undertook there.
The South Yorkshire BCS branch is organising a joint visit with Sheffield Hallam University, to Bletchley Park and the National Museum of Computing on Friday the 8th of February, as a Special Event for BCS members, as well as non-BCS members within the South Yorkshire area. Tickets are limited, and booking is essential.
The cost of the event includes a tour of both Bletchley Park, the National Museum of Computing and a coach to and from Bletchley Park.
This event is a subsidised event and a great opportunity to visit and learn more about Bletchley Park and the essential Code Breaking work that was undertaken during the Second World War.
A full refund will be issued if a cancellation is received within 14 days of the booking date or by 12 pm on Friday 1st February 2019, otherwise, name substitutions will be allowed after this date.
