SYNOPSIS
Exchanging patient information between different healthcare IT systems is critically important. FHIR is the global industry standard for this. FHIR is free available, open, and designed to be quick to learn and implement. It is increasingly being used by the NHS.

Grahame will provide his perspective, as its originator, on the FHIR standard. After his keynote, there will be a Q&A with a panel consisting of Grahame along with experts from the NHS and industry who have experience of implementing FHIR in the UK.

An extensive list of sources of information on FHIR can be found at: www.hl7.org.uk/standards/fhir.asp
