Synopsis

This presentation looks at the background and potential impacts of climate change, the UK's energy problem, how we fared “energy wise” during the recent COVID lockdowns, how this all relates to ICT and data centres and what’s being done by the UK government and others to address the issues, it’ll also include our take on COP26 the 2021 United Nations climate change conference.

About the speaker

John BoothJohn Booth

John Booth is a well-known figure in EU data centre circles, primarily for his role as reviewer for the EU Code of Conduct for Data Centres (Energy Efficiency) (EUCOC) programme. He is the Vice-Chair of the BCS, Chartered Institute for IT, Green IT specialist group.

He runs his own Green IT consultancy, Carbon3IT Ltd, offering specialist consultancy in Data Centre Energy Efficiency & Sustainability. They also provide support to organisations preparing to adopt various data centre standards including general standards such as Quality, Environment, Business Continuity, Information Security, and Energy Management.
