Greetings from ITU. We are contacting you to announce that nominations for the 2018 Equals in Tech Awards will close on 20 July 2018.

These prestigious annual awards celebrate innovative initiatives and projects that help women and girls cross the digital divide. This year’s EQUALS in Tech Awards will be held on September 22, 2018 in the context of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States of America.

We hope we can count on your support to submit your projects and promote the nomination phase with individuals, civil society, public sector, UN system and international organizations, private sector, and academics who have done exceptional work in your region. You can self-nominate, or nominate a deserving stakeholder in any of the following categories:

  1. ACCESS: Initiatives related to improving women and girls’ digital technology access, connectivity and security;
  2. SKILLS: Initiatives that support development of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills of women and girls;
  3. LEADERSHIP: Initiatives focused on promoting women in decision-making roles within the ICT field, as well as initiatives promoted by private sector companies from the ICT industry to bridge the digital gender divide;
  4. RESEARCH: Initiatives prioritizing research on the gender digital divide and producing reliable evidence to tackle diversity issues within STEM and computing fields.
