Professor Jim Austin in York has a project to work on the Grace Hopper version of the Univac compiler and he also has another project to help catalogue their ENORMOUS collection of computing equipment that goes back decades and includes some pretty amazing kit including the last supercomputer belonging to Stephen Hawking.

If anyone would like to support Jim (who is really lovely) in either of these two pieces of work, please mention that Gillian Arnold said that he is looking for volunteers and contact him directly on austin@cs.york.ac.uk
