Pride specialist group
Better and bolder visibility and inclusion for our LGBTQIA+ community in the IT profession.
Trans Day of Visibility (TDoV)
Thursday 31 March 2022 was Trans Day of Visibility (TDoV), the first since the creation of our Pride specialist group. On days like this, we’d love to be profiling the fantastic work our trans, non-binary, questioning and gender non-conforming members, what they are doing in industry, academia, civil society and in our wider communities to make IT and our digital worlds better for society.

About us
PRIDE at BCS is a new specialist group to facilitate the BCS mission through a diversity lens that includes, but is not limited to, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex and Asexual (LGBTQIA+) people.
It will focus on supporting the professional and personal development of LGBTQIA+ BCS members and those in the wider world of IT and digital who experience disadvantage, harassment or discrimination because of their sexual orientation or gender identity in our society.
The group will advocate for the rights of LGBTQIA+ within BCS and educate its membership on the challenges LGBTQIA+ people face and how inclusive technology can help them overcome said challenges. The group will provide expertise to BCS on topics that relate to LGBTQIA+ communities.
