Events are normally in the form of a full day seminar on a specific topic of current interest in the information security field. A charge is levied to cover the cost of the venue, lunch and other refreshments, but the cost per delegate is very modest compared with commercial events featuring speakers of similar calibre. An ever popular event is the group's "Legal Day", which provides delegates with an intensive update on the laws and regulations affecting the management of information.

The Annual General Meeting is held during September, usually in conjunction with one of the group’s regular seminars. Attendance at the AGM is free of charge but restricted to ISSG members.

The BCS-ISSG takes pride in its ability to consistently attract leading authorities in the area of information security to speak at its conferences. The assembly of such expertise, coupled with the informal nature of these events, provides a unique opportunity for our members to gain valuable first-hand knowledge.
