  • This Practitioner-level certificate is aimed at digital professionals looking to enhance their business and leadership skills in target areas.
  • Suitable for IT business partners, business analysts, business managers and members of their team, business change managers and project managers.

Entry requirements

  • You should be in an IT role with some experience of working with different teams across the business.
  • You must have successfully completed the BCS Practitioner Awards in Leading with an IT Mindset, Collaborating with Business Teams, and Business Skills for the IT Professional to be eligible for the Being an IT Business Partner Certification.

What will I learn?

Applying the knowledge learned throughout the preceding Practitioner awards, you’ll learn about influencing decision-making, taking responsibility and accountability in implementing solutions, how to collaborate with different business areas in the digital workplace, as well as demonstrating diversity and cultural awareness, with topics including:

  • Understanding the concepts of responsibility and accountability in the context of solution implementation;
  • Why, when, and how to influence decision-making when choosing a solution;
  • Promoting diversity and inclusion in business relationships;
  • Effectively assessing strengths and weaknesses of proposed solutions;
  • Conceptualising and understanding workplace culture and its effects on solution implementation.

What format is the exam?

  • 60-minute ‘closed book’ exam with 5 scenarios and 20 2 objective questions. There is a mixture of multi choice, multi response, ranking and fill in the blanks.
  • Every question will include a video (minimum bandwidth 1.5mbps, 3mbps recommended). Headphones are recommended.
  • Pass mark is 65% (26/40)
