It's the role that most will identify with and is one of the most undervalued of all. But today, we are not only profiling a great example of the IT Trainer at their best but we are joining the Institute of IT Training to celebrate outstanding examples of high standards, best practice, innovation and excellence within IT training at the annual IT Training Awards, sponsored by BCS. The awards are presented at The Dorchester, Park Lane, London, at the Institute's prestigious Awards Dinner, held in the first Thursday of February each year and those of us lucky enough to be attending tonight will see the best of the best being recognised by their peers.
The awards categories include Innovation in Training Services, Training Venue of the Year, Training Manager of the Year, Trainer of the Year and Freelance Trainer of the Year, amongst many others and I am looking forward to congratulating them as their efforts are publicly rewarded.
The UK IT Industry Awards no longer recognise training practitioners in IT in their own right and that is a shame but the IT Training Awards help to redress that balance. Good luck to all the finalists tonight and thanks for representing IT training at its best.
