BCS Berkshire Branch

Windsor Castle

Berkshire is a great place for anyone interested in computing and IT. The BCS Berkshire branch committee is enthusiastic about organising events and talks on new IT topics and trends.

We are committed to working with organisations, schools and colleges to raise the profile of computing and IT in the local area, to children, students and adults. Keep an eye on our Events page for upcoming events. Most events are free so come along and bring your friends!

Get involved!

We also want to hear what is important to you. If there are topics you would like to see on the event list, have an idea about how the Berkshire branch can help people in your area, or are just interested in finding out more about the branch, feel free to contact us. If you have some time on your hands or want to bring ideas to the branch, why not join our Committee, or get involved in Volunteering? We are always happy to see new faces.

R.U Hacking?

Amazing work being done by our student chapter, R. U. Hacking? The committee this year has been amazing! Good luck for the future! Check out highlights from their Hackathon. BCS Berkshire would like to wish Ludmila and the rest of the new committee good luck in the coming year!

We ended 2017-8 strongly with a stand at the 'Big Bang' careers fair at Leighton Park School in Reading, a talk on Cybersecurity by Dr Corey Hirsch from the USA on 19 July at the Henley Business School, and an evening’s talk and free consultancy on PRINCE2 Agile by its author Keith Richards, at Oracle's UK HQ on 26 July. We kicked off 2018-9 with our AGM and a talk by BCS President Chris Rees on Ethics in IT and Artificial Intelligence. Our Past Events tab has details of all our past events. We hope to see you at some of our events in 2018-9. We run at least one every month except for August, which is our summer break. Our Events tab has all the details. Email events.berkshire@bcs.org.uk if you would like us to run a topic that is missing.
