SYNOPSIS
In today's dynamic business environment successful organisations are continually changing the way they run their critical business operations not just to improve efficiency but, more importantly, to better serve their customers and become more competitive. Innovation, especially in IT, is now recognised as the key enabler of business transformation. However, the development and implementation of new applications and systems that will successfully transform an organisation is itself a complex activity requiring rigorous analysis and planning along with careful stakeholder management to make certain that the IT is fully aligned with what the business needs.
In this year's Ada Lovelace lecture, Jessica Day will describe her diverse range of experiences working in IT and other fields which have led her to her current role in business change at St. James's Place, a FTSE-100 wealth management business and the largest company in their sector in the UK. She will describe the approach she employs to enable delivery of IT and business change programmes for the organisation, using case studies and practical examples from her extensive experience.
