Synopsis
The speakers will give talks considering the situation from Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, South Arica Each short talk/presentation will last for about 10 minutes followed by Q & As and discussions.
About the speakers
Dr Dili Ojukwu, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo, Nigeria
Since obtaining his Doctorate degree in 2009 from Middlesex University, London, Dr Dili Ojukwu PhD, MSc, PGCert (HE), FHEA has taught various Computer Science and Information Systems modules at some universities and colleges in and around London. He is currently a lecturer at Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI) in Nigeria.
His research interests can be broadly classified into three streams: adoption and diffusion of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in developing economies; the role and use of ICTs in driving economic and social development; and the use of ICTs, particularly the technologies of the Internet, in improving e-governance and e-Commerce practices.

Since obtaining his doctorate in 1994 from Queen’s University Belfast, James Uhomoibhi PhD CPhys MInstP MIET FHEA FBCS CITP FCHERP TD. He graduated with first degree in Physics from Nigeria in 1985, proceeded to Italy, completed a BPhil degree and moved to the UK where he completed an MSc in Optoelectronics and Optical Information Processing and a PhD in Laser Physics with specialization in the generation of soft x-ray lasers from high temperature laser produced plasmas. He also completed a PGCHET in Higher Education.
James Uhomoibhi is a Chartered Physicist and a member of the Institute of Physics in the UK. He is a Chartered IT Professional, a Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS), The Chartered Institute for IT, a member of the Institution for Engineering and Technology (IET) and a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy. He is also a member of ACM and of IEEE-SA.
James Uhomoibhi is visiting Professor of Physics, Computer Science and IT in Nigerian Universities, a visiting professor of Science Technology and Environmental Studies at the Open University of Tanzania and a visiting Lead Scientist at the African City of Technology, Sudan. He is a LEADS Scholar in Nigeria with the responsibility of linking experts and academics in the Diaspora to institutions and communities in the country.
His research interests are in Artificial Intelligence for Enhanced Education and Research in Physics, Computing, Engineering and Education. Presently He is Head of the Mixed Augmented and Virtual Reality Research Laboratory (MAVRLAB) of the Artificial Intelligence Research Group at Ulster University (www.ulster.ac.uk/mavrlab).
