What I wish someone had told me when I was developing as a leader

SPEAKER

Stephen E. Morris CITP - Founder, Stephen E. Morris Ltd

AGENDA

6.30pm - Hybrid event starts
8.00pm - Presentation ends with networking and refreshments for those attending at the BCS London office
9.00pm - Event close

SYNOPSIS

Based on Stephen’s eye-opening book, this keynote challenges the myth of one-size-fits-all leadership and delivery models. Instead, it introduces sensemaking as the essential skill leaders need to uncover the wide array of contexts shaping their organisations.

At a time when organisations face mounting pressure to deliver greater impact at lower cost – often through digital transformation – this talk offers leaders and teams a vital alternative to failed frameworks and empty promises.

Blending theory, real-world insights, and practical ideas, audiences will discover why popular frameworks so often fail in practice, what leadership training frequently overlooks and what we might do differently.

Don’t miss this opportunity to evolve your leadership practice through sensemaking, not shortcuts.

Key messages

• Why there is no single optimal way to lead or deliver

• Why popular models sell so well (even when they don’t work)

• How sensemaking helps leaders uncover the contexts that influence success

• How to move beyond one-size-fits-all approaches for more effective, tailored strategies
