Historic computers
We aim to publish a series of pages on individual historic computers, giving an introductory outline with the main features and pointers to where good online information can be found. We aim to cover early UK computers, and particularly those with CCS restoration projects.
Pages available now: The Harwell Computer
Over the years the Computer Conservation Society has collected much material from people who worked on early UK computers. The CCS project on 'Our Computer Heritage' has written up much factual information, and these pages link in to that.
Also the Society's bulletin contains articles of relevance to individual machines, some of which were based on talks and discussions given by participants in the original computer developments. Links to relevant articles are given.
Help is sought in preparing more entries. People with an interest in individual machines are welcome to contact the CCS. Contact details for the CCS website editor are in CCS Contact page.
