UKeiG Strix Award
The Tony Kent Strix Award was inaugurated in 1998 by The Institute of Information Scientists.
The Award is given in recognition of Outstanding Practical Innovation or Achievement in the Field of Information Retrieval. The Institute of Information Scientists merged with the Library Association in 2002 to form the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP). The Strix Award is now the responsibility of the UK electronic information Group (UKeiG), which is a special interest group of CILIP.
The International Society for Knowledge Organisation UK (ISKO UK), the Royal Society of Chemistry Chemical Information and Computer Applications Group (RSC CICAG) and the British Computer Society Information Retrieval Specialist Group (BCS IRSG) are also represented on the Awards Committee.
