Event description:

Ross Dargan, Waterstons

Consumers’ expectations of IT have increased enormously in the last few years as smart phones and on-line services are now common place. This is driving up expectations, as most users are now comfortable with accessing information regardless of the device they are using or their physical location. He will cover some of the tools and technologies that are available to achieve this as efficiently and cost effectively as possible.

Gregory Marler, Cloud Data Service

OpenStreetMap(OSM) has grown exponentially in data, fame, and popularity since some crowdsource-minded geeks first started walking round the UK in 2004. The maps are wonderfully better than other providers in many places, but did you know about the 400GB XML "planet.osm" file of raw data waiting for you to use?

Shaun Fensom, Manchester Digital

In addition to our "Future of Information" talks, we are also really pleased to welcome Shaun Fensom of Manchester Digital along. Shaun will be giving us the low-down on the plans for the Big Chip Awards 2014, and how North East companies can get involved.

The timings for the event are:

5.00pm: Registration, Networking & Catering
5.45pm: Event Welcome
5.50pm: Big Chip Awards 2014 Presentation
6.10pm: Digital Debate: Spread the word?
7.30pm: Post Event Networking
