"I work in IT"

"Oh, can you fix my PC then?"

Working ‘in IT’ can mean many things. Even ‘programming’ could relate to Project Management, Databases, Websites, Embedded Real-time, SCADA, PLC’s or Neural nets. This event takes a look at what it means to ‘work in IT’, what roles exist?, what skillsets are needed?; Recruitment, Continuing Professional Development and succession planning; and where does BCS fit into all this? - all in 2hours!

  1. Caroline Noble, Head of Information Services, James Cropper PLC - ‘Softskills for the IT Professional’
  2. Charles Weir, Consultant and Researcher in App Security, Lancaster University - ‘Recruitment and Succession planning’
  3. Stephen Ironmonger, Head of IT, BESA - ‘Continuing Professional Development’
  4. Brenton Horne, Business Analyst, BESA  - ‘Business Analysis, the bridge between IT & business’
