With quality and continuous improvement at the heart of our apprenticeship activities, we never forget there are four of us in this relationship - that’s you, the employer, BCS and, of course most importantly, the apprentice.
And when we all work together we work smarter in reaching our common goals. That’s why we’ve invested in systems, processes and channels that bring everyone together to support the apprentice in fulfilling their learning potential. So what does this look like?

So as you’d expect we offer an impressive support package for digital apprentices including discounted access to the Pluralsight digital skills learning portal, and BCS Student membership linking apprentices up with the wider IT practitioner community and exclusive development tools and resources.
Once they pass their apprenticeship, the apprentice can upgrade to Professional membership and take their place on the RITTech professional register underlining their competence and industry credentials.
Our leading-edge technology platform enables time-pressed employers to engage smoothly and efficiently with the apprenticeship process. While our fair and robust evaluation leaves them safe in the knowledge that their apprentice has become a highly competent and valuable asset to the team.
Employers know they can trust BCS for the latest guidance on apprenticeship levy and policy, and we facilitate regular opportunities for them to come together with training providers, government and policymakers to discuss their apprenticeship strategies, share success stories and challenges, and contribute to steering future agenda.
Delivering digital apprenticeships with BCS - how to get started
Employer trailblazers are responsible for defining the knowledge, skills and behaviours in the apprenticeship standards and how they are assessed. Details of the employer trailblazers can be found on each of the published apprenticeship standards.
Digital apprenticeships are being updated
The Digital Trailblazers have updated most of the digital apprenticeships standards, which will be available from Spring 2021. Once available, apprentices will be registered onto these updated apprenticeships.
Apprentices that are already registered will usually complete the apprenticeship standard that they started on. If you need guidance on transferring apprentices, you should seek advice from the Education and Skills Funding Agency.
End-point assessment for new and updated digital apprenticeships
End-point assessment for these standards is unique to each apprenticeship. Take a look at the summary of digital standards to find out more.
