A new branch is being formed covering the North Lakes area of Cumbria. The inaugural meeting will take place on at 6:30pm - 8:30pm on Tuesday 29 November at The North Lakes Hotel and Spa.

Recently there has been increased member activity in the North Lakes / Penrith area. In particular, a group of members based in this area keen to establish a local branch to enable learning, collaboration and networking between IT professionals and organisations. This initial meeting will look to take in the views and comments of interested parties in the area on what the branch and its activities should look like going forward.

    BCS has a new strategy that puts “Making IT Good for Society” at the very heart of its work. It is clear that the member groups’ community will have a vital role in delivering this strategy as we set out on this new path together. We want to empower our member groups to make a real impact in delivering this new mission.
    In this talk I will outline this strategy and suggest ways in which we could move forward. Equally important will be your views and suggestions.
