The surge in data breaches over the past few years is bad news for companies and consumers and has driven demand for effective cybersecurity solutions. Palo Alto provides next-gen firewalls for over 45,000 customers in more than 150 countries. That customer base includes over 85 of the Fortune 100 companies. The company is credited as being the first to introduce a stateful inspection firewall and the first intrusion prevention system. In 2017, Palo Alto announced the availability of a cloud-based logging service, allowing customers to amass their own secuirty data in an elastic cloud environment offering analytics and insights.

About the speaker
As the lead for Higher Education & Research clients in England & Wales, Steve Carr is responsible for driving all sales, go-to-market, support, customer satisfaction, and business development activities. Steve joined the company in 2013 and has held a number of roles within the business during his tenure. Steve has a broad knowledge of the challenges facing organisations today and has been in the field of Cyber Security for some 11 years with additional experience across Data Networking and Voice Communications. Prior to joining Palo Alto Networks, Steve held positions at Dell, Avaya and Alcatel Lucent.
