Steve Taylor, Chief Sales Office, Yappn

New companies are emerging and turning into billion dollar concerns, seemingly overnight. Garena is emerging as the next giant in Southeast Asia and strives to be the next Ali Baba and Tencent all rolled into one. Throw in a disruptive payment platform as the third leg of the stool. Their eCommerce platform has gone from a standing start to billions of dollars in revenue in 14 months.

Toronto-based Yappn is working with a number of these companies. Steve Taylor will explore some of the lessons we can learn in North America from disruptive companies like Garena and others and the important role that language has to play in these disruptive scenarios.

About the speaker:

Yappn empowers clients to capture new markets through ‘real-time’ innovative language solutions. Prior to joining Yappn, Steve was the CEO of Resolver Inc. until the company was sold to Klass Capital. As CEO, Steve oversaw all aspects of the business including Sales, Marketing, Technology, M&A, Finance and Investor Relations. Steve Taylor was also VP Client Service at Cyberplex and instrumental in growing its revenue from $1 Million to almost $40 Million over a five-year period.
