Research notes

This report is based on a survey carried out by BCS where 721 respondents took part during the period 13 December 2021 to 17 January 2022.

The survey was conducted online and was promoted via a number of channels including direct email invitation, weekly newsletter and social media.

The BCS IT Leaders Forum were also invited to take part in the survey. This year the survey was broadened to include not only IT leaders but also IT professionals who do not hold management positions. The vast majority of participants are BCS members.

Percentages quoted are based on the number of respondents who answered each question. This will vary from question to question because non-respondents to specific questions are excluded from the base. Unless otherwise indicated questions were put to all respondents.
