Dr Michael Servian is a lawyer who has specialised in intellectual property, particularly as it affects the ICT sector, for 25 years. Whilst also engaged in systems outsourcing, procurement, licensing and shared services, he has acted in many disputes over the years concerning ownership, licences, cloning, consortium system acquisition failures and numerous internet misuse matters. He has spoken on copyright issues to various bodies including the BCS, WMITA, SOCITM, UK OnLine, BIS, Chambers of Commerce, various trade associations and at international anti-counterfeiting conventions. He had a long-running newspaper column on "internet trading" before the expression "e.commerce" was coined! Michael has a PhD in Law, is a member of the BCS and a partner at the top 100 national firm of solicitors Freeths, based at the firm’s Stoke on Trent offices.

Sarah Beardmore is an IP/ICT specialist solicitor and Michael’s assistant at Freeths. The best introduction to Sarah is through the kinds of things that her clients say about her: logical and insightful (Nick Hamlett, Managing Director, Goodlife Foods Limited); efficient and professional (Ben Parry, Director, Alsecco (UK) Limited); quick, intelligent and effective (Helen Cook, Marketing Director, A3D2 Limited).
