Douglas Grant is a Detective Chief Inspector in the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) and is leading the PSNI response to cybercrime. DCI Grant also works with the NCA National Cyber Crime Unit at a strategic level and is a graduate of University College Dublin with a MSc in Cybercrime and Forensic Computing. DCI Grant has also developed and chairs the Organised Crime Task Force ( OCTF) Cyber Sub-group and Cyber Industry Engagement Group which is continuing to develop law enforcement initiatives to protect business and industry from cyber-attacks.

Douglas’s presentation, “Emerging Cybercrime in Northern Ireland” will look at the current emerging threats, the motivations, and the law enforcement and industry partnership response to prevent attacks, protect industry and enable the prosecution and disruption of those involved in committing the attacks. The presentation will include ‘real world’ examples and demonstrate the current operational response to this ever growing threat.
