Wednesday 13 June 2012, 9.00am - 4.30pm

The Open University, Milton Keynes, MK7 6BJ

With skills development high on the agenda for many organisations, BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, hosted the Using SFIA in Education and Workplace Learning conference on 13 June 2012.

The conference, which is supported by The Open University and the SFIA Foundation, looked at the various uses of the Skills Framework in the Information Age (SFIA) in practical learning contexts.

Jooli Atkins, Chair of the BCS Learning and Development specialist group which is organising the event explains more: 'Skills development is a major concern for many organisations. It is important to ensure that you can recruit, train and very importantly, retain the right employees. SFIA is a great basis used by many organisations to help them with this.'

Kevin Streater, Head of IT Industry Engagement at The Open University, and a member of the SFIA Council adds: 'SFIA is the language that enables learning and development practitioners in industry to engage with workplace learning providers such as The Open University. This conference will provide an excellent platform to explore this in depth.'
