Qualifications and Skills for Project Managers

Thursday 12 December 2002

Chris Hobson and Pippa Newman

Southampton Institute, Herbert Collins Building, HC024

Organised by the Proms with the Quality SIG and the Hampshire Branch.

There are more and more Project Management qualifications available - APM, ISEB, PRINCE2, to name but a few. Many organisations now demand that their staff have a recognised qualification - but which one should you choose?

Similarly, what skills and competencies do Project Managers really need? How do you find the right people to fulfil key roles on projects and programmes? These related areas are discussed by Chris Hobson and Pippa Newman. Chris is a very experienced Project and Programme manager, and is Chair of the ISEB's Project Management Certificate Board. Pippa has been a consultant advisor with Office of Government Commerce for 10 years.
