The Law Specialist Group held an initial meeting at the BCS London offices in July 2009 to establish interest in resurrecting the group.

I would like to invite you to the forthcoming AGM at the BCS London offices.

There will be also a presentation by Mr Stephen Mason which starts at 18:30pm on the subject of:

“The current state of the Law on Digital Evidence and Electronic Signatures - Considered in order of importance of the lawyer arguing a case” which will precede the AGM and will commence at 18:30pm.

Registration opens at 18:00pm, refreshments will be served.

The Speaker:

Stephen Mason is a barrister, and a member of the IT Panel of the General Council of the Bar of England and Wales and the UK representative on the IT Law Committee of the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe.

He is the general editor of Electronic Evidence: Disclosure, Discovery & Admissibility (2007) of International and Comparative Law (2008). He is the author of Electronic Signatures in Law (2007) and E-Mail, Networks and the Internet: A Concise Guide to Compliance with the Law (2006). He is the founder and general editor of the Digital Evidence and Electronic Signature Law Review.

The AGM itself will commence at 19:30pm.

Only BCS members can vote, non BCS members are welcome to stay but cannot vote.

If any Specialist Law Group member is unable to attend then the Acting Secretary will be able to forward electronic copies upon request.
