Many people in organisations use Scrum as their primary Agile method. Maybe they never heard of Kanban? Maybe they don’t know how it could benefit them? Maybe coming to this meet-up is your first step to understand more.

This session is about learning the basics of Kanban by taking a look at the Principles and Practices one by one. This session is for attendees who are new to the method or for those wanting to reconfirm their knowledge.

About the speaker:

Helen Meek is an outgoing Kanban coach and trainer who is passionate about working with individuals, teams and organisations on their road to agility. Helen is a Scrum and Agile veteran having guided agile transformations in many different industries for over seven years through both Scrum and Kanban. She brings this vast wealth of experience to her training and coaching, helping others gain the benefits that agility can bring.

As a convinced agile evangelist, Helen is proud to be an Accredited Kanban Trainer with the Lean Kanban University and runs regular classes both publicly and privately. She is also an active speaker and mentor within the agile and Kanban communities. Helen founded the Agile Coaching Exchange (ACE) and Kanban Coaching Exchange (KCE) meetup groups, and has spoken at various Scrum Gatherings, Lean Kanban and XP (Extreme Programming) Conferences.

The session start off at 6:45 with Pizza and Drinks to ensure we can use the full two hours, from 7.00pm - 9.00pm.

This presentation is particularly designed for those with experience of using Agile methods

The Agile South Coast Group meets monthly, every second Tuesday of the month, to discuss topics about the whole Agile Experience within local technical organisations and people in the Southampton / Hampshire area. They use differing Agile techniques to explore the space, and their aim is to spread the best practices and avoid the pitfalls ly applying Agile methodologies within our professional lives.
